Santander UK statements: eDocuments, exports and midata

Get the right document first

1. Log on to Santander UK through the official app or Online Banking.
2. In the app, open the mailbox and select Statements and documents.
3. Choose the required document, open it in the PDF viewer and use the download control.
4. For current-account midata, use the account’s Download transactions page in Online Banking and select the midata option.
5. For an ordinary transaction export, choose the available date range and format in your own service, then verify the exported scope.

Santander’s retail and business help describe transaction download options separately. Its business help states a maximum of 600 transactions per download; verify any limit and available format in the service you actually use.

PDF statement or native transaction export?

A statement PDF preserves the issued document and its period. A transaction export supplies rows in the format offered by the account’s download service. Keep both where possible, and do not confuse a list of recent unbilled card activity with a completed card statement.

Santander’s midata service provides a standard CSV covering 12 months of current-account transaction history for comparison services, with personal data masked. If your review depends on full references, compare the file’s fields with your statement rather than assuming a masked comparison file is equivalent to the bank’s complete record.

Checks that matter for this account

• Midata has a specific purpose

  Label a midata file as a comparison export. Masked details should remain marked as unavailable instead of being guessed from similar transactions.

• Export transaction limits

  When a range might exceed the limit shown by the service, split it into documented intervals and verify all intervals before concatenating.

• Since-last-download selection

  Some Santander download help offers a since-last-download choice. For repeatable reviews, record the selected scope or use explicit dates where available.

• PDF versus card activity

  Check whether the source is an issued statement or recent card transactions. Keep unbilled activity separate from the completed cycle.

Build a spreadsheet you can review

Use the spreadsheet import dialog and retain source-file, account and requested-period fields. Check UK day/month interpretation with an unambiguous date. Store references as text, and maintain the original description beside any review category. When splitting a large period, inspect overlapping dates before removing any suspected duplicate.

For a synthetic GBP account, £750.00 opening plus £1,000.00 credits minus £420.00 debits gives £1,330.00. Compare only the same account and complete period. A masked reference or omitted row requires a source check, not an invented value. Matching balances do not certify that merchant names or references are complete.
