Starling statements: monthly PDFs and CSV feed exports

Starling’s business help describes a statement change from August 2026: monthly statements are PDF records, while custom-range CSV files are transaction summaries. Other product help, including joint accounts, can describe a different choice sequence. Use the guidance matching your account and distinguish a verifiable issued statement from a working export. That distinction is more useful than assuming every file labelled a statement serves the same purpose.

Get the right document first

  1. Open your Starling account menu and choose Statements and documents.
  2. Select Statement history and identify the account or product you are reviewing.
  3. For the business monthly statement route, select the required month or months and download the PDF.
  4. For a business CSV, use the feed export link in statement history and choose the offered date range.
  5. Select CSV for the transaction summary, then check its dates and compare with the relevant monthly PDF records.

Starling’s business guidance says custom transaction summaries cover dates within the last 12 months and are not verifiable statements. Its joint-account guidance still describes CSV, PDF and large-print choices, so product scope matters.

PDF statement or native transaction export?

Monthly business statements cover complete calendar months; multiple selected months can be delivered together in a ZIP file. Open each actual document and retain its account and period. A ZIP container is not another statement, and a monthly summary should not be appended as an extra transaction.

The business feed export supports custom-range transaction summaries in CSV or PDF. Use CSV for spreadsheet review and keep the monthly statement for the issued record. Starling’s joint-account help separately describes standard or certified choices; do not transfer that workflow to a business screen when the current business help directs you elsewhere.

Checks that matter for this account

  • Monthly versus custom period

Do not expect a custom CSV to have the same boundaries as a monthly PDF. Choose a matching scope or label the CSV a separate review period.

  • Multiple-month ZIP files

Inventory each extracted PDF and check the month sequence. The number of files is a coverage check, not a count of transactions.

  • Verifiable document versus summary

Starling says business transaction summaries are not verifiable statements. Keep the issued PDF when a third party needs the bank’s statement record.

  • Product-specific guidance

Check whether your account is personal, business, joint or a savings product before applying a help article’s menu path and document choices.

Build a spreadsheet you can review

Import the CSV with source-account and requested-period fields, leaving references as text. Preserve original descriptions and any supplied transaction identifiers. When comparing several months, use a month register and inspect the boundary dates rather than deleting rows with repeated amounts.

For a synthetic business account, £3,000.00 opening plus £1,500.00 incoming minus £975.00 outgoing gives £3,525.00. Check a complete calendar-month population against that month’s statement. A custom mid-month CSV cannot establish the same closing figure by itself, and a correct total does not certify every transaction detail.

FAQ · Starling Bank

Can Starling business customers still get CSV?

Yes. The current business help places CSV in transaction-summary feed exports, distinct from monthly PDF statements.

Why did several Starling monthly PDFs arrive as a ZIP?

The business help says multiple selected months download together in a compressed ZIP. Open and inventory the individual statements before reviewing rows.

Is a Starling CSV transaction summary a verifiable statement?

Starling’s business guidance says it is not. Use the issued monthly statement when you need the verifiable bank record.
