NAB statements: issued PDFs, recent reports and business CSV

NAB’s help covers several different records: issued account statements, recent-transaction PDFs, interest summaries and NAB Connect transaction reports. Select the record that fits the review rather than treating every download as an interchangeable statement. For business users, NAB Connect documents native CSV, PDF and QIF reports; personal app instructions describe a recent-transaction PDF workflow.

Get the right document first

  1. Log in to the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking for the personal account you need.
  2. Open the account’s Statements area and choose the issued statement where available.
  3. If you need recent activity outside the issued cycle, use Download your recent transactions, select the range and generate the PDF.
  4. For a business NAB Connect export, open the relevant simple or advanced account transaction report.
  5. Apply the account and period filters, select Export and choose the supported CSV, PDF or QIF format.

A recent-transaction PDF or interest report is not automatically the issued statement for a closed cycle. Keep its document type and selected dates in your review register.

PDF statement or native transaction export?

NAB’s personal guide describes generating a PDF of recent transactions and separately exporting interest/tax summary information. A CSV option shown for an interest report does not establish a CSV download of every personal account transaction. Verify the actual contents before building a ledger.

NAB Connect’s simple history includes running balances, while advanced history supports filtered reporting across one or more accounts or account groups. Its native CSV can avoid PDF reconstruction, provided the selected account population and period match the issued records used for comparison. Preserve the report settings beside the export.

Checks that matter for this account

  • Interest summary is not the ledger

Keep annual interest and tax report totals outside the transaction table. Add only actual posted interest rows shown in the account record.

  • Recent report dates

Check the requested recent period rather than assuming it starts at the latest statement boundary. Joining it to an issued statement can create overlapping rows.

  • Simple versus advanced Connect report

Record the report type and account scope. A filtered advanced report may omit entries that a full account review needs.

  • Running balance source

When the report supplies a running balance, keep it as a control. Do not manufacture running values for omitted rows or confuse them with available funds.

Build a spreadsheet you can review

Import business CSV through the spreadsheet import dialog and preserve BSB, account and payment references as text. For recent PDF data, add a source-page reference and keep the issued statement separate. Use a period register to compare overlap before deciding whether two rows are the same transaction.

For a synthetic NAB deposit account, A$1,300.00 opening plus A$750.00 credits minus A$280.00 debits gives A$1,770.00. The annual interest summary should not be added again if those interest credits are already posted in the ledger. Balance agreement supports arithmetic, not the accuracy of every classification or description.

FAQ · NAB

Can NAB Connect provide CSV transaction reports?

Yes. NAB’s Connect help describes CSV, PDF and QIF exports for account transaction reports. Check whether your simple or advanced report has the required scope.

Is a NAB recent-transactions PDF the same as a monthly statement?

Treat it as a report for the selected period. Compare its actual dates with the issued statement before merging rows.

Does a CSV option on NAB’s interest report mean all personal transactions export as CSV?

No. An interest summary has a different purpose. Check the supported download for the actual transaction list.
